Fraport Implements New target Web Dynpro for ABAP Solution

Fraport AG has been a customer of the idea management software from target since the third quarter of 2002. Up until now, they have used the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) option for their Web-based solution.

Starting January 1, 2010, Fraport became the first customer using the new software release built entirely with the programming model Web Dynpro for ABAP (WD4A). The following roles are supported: submitters, managers, reviewers, persons responsible, administrators, and patent protection.

The upgrade to the WD4A solution has been positively welcomed at Fraport. The greatest improvements have been in the modern, user-friendly Web interface with enhanced options.

For example, online entry forms for reviews as well as navigation control are designed so that users cannot make logical errors when entering data. Fraport also embraced the option where employees themselves can enter role-specific substitution rules in the portal. Idea Managers found that the upgrade to the new solution simplifies their daily work. Idea coordinators and reviewers can call up reports relevant for them in online. Submitters can always find the latest information on the status of their ideas in their portal.

As a pilot customer for the new release from target Idea Management since the spring of 2009, Fraport has helped in the development of the standard software released to the market in 2009 by providing its valuable experience. Fraport and target look forward to continuing their close collaboration in the future. According to Ruth Joesch from the Idea Management department at Fraport AG: “It’s of great advantage for us to bring our feedback and experiences into the further development of the target solution, and ensure that we can always provide our employees a flexible idea management software that meets our requirements and is presented in a fresh new form.”
