With its well-known brands of sweets, such as Werther’s Original, Toffifay, merci, nimm2, Knoppers, Riesen, Super Dickmann’s, and many others, August Storck KG makes people’s lives a little sweeter and happier daily all over the world.

In May 2008, Storck implemented target Idea Management software to support idea management processes in their operations in Germany.

To foster their continuous  improvement processes, the company’s management and corporate works council agreed to a new company agreement called “Storck Idea World” on May 1, 2008, for locations in Germany. Making ideas and improvements part of the daily work environment, an open culture of dialog, and discussions between managers and employees are at the center of improving existing business processes – and the concepts behind Storck Idea World.
 
A modern IT solution was necessary to replace a centralized company improvement process with mostly manual administrative processes with a decentralized corporate portal application in which employee managers play a key role. Storck summarized its essential requirements for IT support as follows: 
• User friendly
• Unburocratic and flexible
• Cross-location transparency
• No interface issues
• Not  a silo solution; uses existing IT structure and available know-how as much as possible

After a survey of the market and investigation into developing its own solution, Storck decided to go with the target software. The project kicked off with a workshop to determine the requirements in a specifications document. The implementation project was led by two employees from Storck’s business application development responsible for SAP plant data collection/time management software. The two Storck employees evaluated the implementation project and now productive operation of the application as follows:
 
“The target solution represents known SAP territory for us. With the help of a target consultant for approximately four days, we were able to map all requirements. The support from target during every project phase has been exemplary.

Our first reports on day-to-day operations have been very positive. The user is led through the entire process for idea processing in the portal according to their roles. The IT system is also not a problem or a challenge for employee managers, so they are better able to focus on their key roles in the process. For future system enhancements, we could imagine establishing a link to SAP Business Information Warehouse. We welcome the opportunity to continue our good cooperation with target.”
