GESIS selects "target Idea Management" for Salzgitter Group

GESIS (Gesellschaft für Informationssystem mbH), a 100% subsidiary of the steel technology group Salzgitter AG, set a goal to standardize IT and to develop tailored solutions that optimize business processes for their customers. Their objective applies both to companies in the Salzgitter Group as well as to customers in the external market. Salzgitter AG and its 17,000 employees belong to the leading steel technology conglomerate in Europe. 

At the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2006, GESIS made the decision to buy a license for target Idea Management and immediately began configuring the solution for Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, the largest steel division in the Salzgitter Group with approximately 5,000 employees. 2007 will see tubes divisions Mannesmannröhren-Werke GmbH and EUROPIPE Gmbh also starting to use the idea management software.

On the decision to select target software, Wilfried Dörnert, head of HR systems at GESIS, stated: “It soon became clear that the solution from target was a 100% fit to our strategic SAP software infrastructure. In addition, it was important for us to be able to handle the different idea management processes our customers had in place with a standardized application. We were convinced we could achieve this goal flexibly with target Idea Management. Customers will each be configured as individual idea groups in the solution. We will therefore only use one standardized software for tailor-made process optimization for our customers.”
